Description

Welcome to Bergamo.
My name is Sara Cologni and I am a tour guide of this beautiful city that I love for its evocative atmosphere and which I discover every time to be even more fascinating when I accompany visitors to explore it. I have been carrying out this activity with passion and enthusiasm since 1995, accompanying tourists who are curious to live a memorable cognitive experience.
I collaborate with Italian and foreign travel agencies (for English-speaking tourist groups). I also carry out guided tours for families, individual travellers, business tourism, students, cultural associations. My interlocutors are of different nature, culture and interests and for me it becomes a challenge every time to carve out a tailor-made itinerary for my guests and always be up to the task, with constant study and in-depth study of the different subjects in the historical and artistic fields.
The city of Bergamo is located in a privileged position in the heart of Lombardy, a few km away from Milan, Como, Mantua, Cremona, in the so-called Lakes area. It offers an interesting natural landscape with its Orobie pre-Alps, two enchanting bodies of water: Lake Iseo and Lake Endine.
The city is the real treasure, divided on two levels: the Lower City in the flat part and the Upper City in the hilly part. Both united by the same beating heart, they offer a vast heritage of history and art enviable by the most beautiful Italian cities of art.
Bergamo is a treasure chest full of treasures and unexpected places, a city on a human scale, with an urban layout of notable architectural impact.
The various itineraries that can be planned are magnificent and allow you to penetrate its dense network of monuments located both in the upper and lower part of the city, in its history and traditions, such as that of the Campanone which still today, after centuries, upon striking at 10.00 pm, with its 100 chimes it brings back to visitors who come from outside an unexpected emotion, recalling the ancient curfew signal!
The monuments are scattered everywhere, even in the historic villages of Città Bassa, reachable on foot via the "staircase" itineraries or more comfortably and pleasantly with one of the two funiculars in Bergamo. In short, a city to experience and discover with at least a day available. Furthermore, if you want to give yourself more time, there are many other interesting tours to take that retrace the history of the Bergamo area: the birthplace of Pope John XXIII - Sotto il Monte, the Romanesque of Almenno with the magnificent "rotunda" of San Tomè, the frescoes by Lorenzo Lotto in the Suardi Oratory in Trescore, the vineyards of Valcalepio with the Wine Route, and even an Industrial Village of great interest for its industrial architecture, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995: Crespi d'Adda. There are many other proposals for visits in the Bergamo area and in the city of Bergamo to discover a musical genius, Gaetano Donizetti and the museum and birthplace of the composer; the Podestà museum
and of the Venetian age; the Cathedral Museum opened only in August 2012 etc. etc. In short, a place for which there are many reasons to leave.
I hope to meet you soon to be able to accompany you to discover my city and to share an unforgettable travel experience with you.

LUOGHI
