From 2 December 2018 to 30 November 2019 at the complex of Madonna delle Virtù and San Nicola dei Greci in Matera the exhibition Salvador Dalí - The Persistence of the Opposites.
The exhibition, which will be open to the public from 2 December, was curated by Beniamino Levi president of the Dalí Universe, with the support of the general manager of the company Marco Franchi, the artistic direction of Roberto Pantè and with the coordination of the international activities of Patrizia Minardi.
The exhibition is a thematic journey that investigates the psychology and artistic inspiration of Dalí. It is set in the millenary setting of the Sassi of Matera and presents about 150 works including large and small sculptures, illustrations, glass sculptures and furniture of the artist, conjugated to a series of multimedia exhibits that build a multi-sensory path and enrich the emotional perception of the storytelling of the exhibition.
Four themes dear to the artist follow one another in the museum itinerary. Four dichotomies, time, millenary and fleeting, the hard shell and the soft content, the dialectic between religion and science, the metamorphosis of reality in surreality, guide the visitor in the knowledge of the Catalan master, in an unique exhibition, highly innovative compared to all previous exhibitions dedicated to Dalí.
Holograms, virtual reality, 3D projections, video mapping, are among the exhibits of strong sensorial impact produced by the company Phantasya srl, which complete the fruition of the artist's works and define a complete and totally immersive experience. The presence of a cinema area with the projection of a docufilm dedicated to the exhibition and a multimedia workshop for educational purposes make the exhibition highly interesting for a wider and younger audience.
